Shahrukh Khan has hit the headlines once again and like always he will be in news for sometime to come because of his perfect timing for making up with none other than foe turn friends Bachchans. The latest patch up between Amitabh Bachchan and Shahrukh Khan is being seen as the masterstroke by Shahrukh, which had to do more with someone else than the Bachchan family.

King Khan met the Bachchans in a way that surprised other guests present at the premiere of Drona. As he entered the venue Shahrukh headed straight ti Amitabh and gave him a warm hug and kept talking for some time. But when Shahrukh spotted Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai, he went towards them and broke the ice by starting the conversation. Afterwards, it was a smooth sailing for King Khan. Though Shahrukh Khan and Amitabh Bachchan never confessed of a cold war between them due to their obvious image compulsions but it was not a hidden fact and everybody was well aware of the rivalry from the days of “Kaun Banega Crorepati”.

The grapevine has it the Shahrukh attended the premiere not for the love of Bachchans but to prevent the grouping of Salman Khan and Bachchans against him in the film industry. Everybody knows that a combination of Salman Khan and Bachchans could emerge, as the most powerful combination of Bollywood and that would have been detrimental for the powerful and prestige of King Khan.

Shahrukh Khan knew things were moving in the direction after Salman went out of his way to meet Abhishek in his van at a studio. Salman Khan had even promised a painting of “Drona”, which he wanted to gift Abhishek Bachchan. There were reports that Abhishek Bachchan was very touched with the kind gesture of Salman. Keeping all these facts in mind, Shahrukh Khan knew that he would have to act very fast on the issue otherwise the equation in Bollywood would go against him forever.

Shahrukh, the shrewd strategist that he is, lost no time and decided to attend the premiere with whole family and friends. Sensing his great chance to isolate Salman Khan from the Bachchans, Shahrukh Khan not only attended the function with wife Gauri, but also roped in his friends and camp followers like Karan Johar, Farah Khan, Shirish Kunder, Sajid Khan etc.

The battle lines are clearly drawn. When it comes to the Bachchans, Shahrukh Khan clearly has an edge; Salman Khan and his family were not invited to the Drona premiere at all. One could argue that it was deliberate that Salman is away in London and would not have made it anyway. But the snub is not missed. The invite was not even extended to his family.

Reasons for the miss is believed to be very different from what we have been reading in the media sources close to the Bachchans claim that during the Khan versus Khan squabble, the Salman camp went out of their way to spread stories that Shahrukh had made an inappropriate comment about the Bachchan’s daughter in law. But when Amitabh personally called Shahrukh to invite him to the premiere, he made it apparent that the family did not buy the rumours. The source continues, “Also, Salman is not exactly a chum of Drona lead actress, Priyanka Chopra either”, says a source close to the Bachchans.

Shahrukh threw an impromptu Eid ..party and was heard inviting all his friends and Bachchans at the premiere for a get together in his home. When we asked Do you consider as Saknab Khan your brother? He said, “No, I have an older sister, Shahnaz Lala, who lives with me. I only work with my colleagues and I love them all but I do not make them my brother or sister. I have a wife, a sister and two kids and they are my life. My family does not harbour any ill with towards anyone. I love Karan Johar and Farah Khan and they are the people with whom I can make an emotional investment”.

He continues,”I am not angry with anyone and I do not harbour ill feelings for anyone. When a person matures, he just can not listen to horrible things from his own family members. You shower love on everyone without expecting anything in return. I have now reached a point where I can not and do not think ill of anyone. I can not do bad to anyone. Live life with your family and friend and share love with all”.

Will you pass good wishes for Salman in future? He said, “Wishes are noy for an individual but for everyone”.
