MOVIE PREVIEW

Aamir Khan back again to make a hat-trick as far his production is concerned after the success of “Lagaan” and “Taare Zameen Par”; both did well at the box-office. Lately Aamir Khan Production has launched a sneak-peak from his forthcoming movie “Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na” as producer featuring his nephew and debutant Imraan Khan.

Though not much info of the storyline was revealed so far but, “Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na” as the promos looks might be something in as usual fashion of Aamir who in his constant endeavour, trying to make meaningful flicks.

Written and directed by Abbas Tyrewala the sound score has been goes to the credit of AR Rahman while introducing yet another newbie to Hindi movies as Telegu actress Genelia in the role of leading lady. Naseeruddin Shah and Aamir Khan would also be seen doing cameos in the movie.

Film producer Aamir Khan in his blog talking about “Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na” says, “Abbas who has is an established writer having written movies like Maqbool, Munna Bhai MBBS and Main Hoon Na, among others has done a great job as a director. While I was busy with Taare Zameen Per, he was doing JT, and when I saw the complete movie it was an excellent translation onto screen of the script; which for me is the most important yardstick for any filmmaker”.

Imraan-genelia

However Masoor Khan, the well-known producer of Aamir’s debut film “Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak”, who was out of the movie circuit for many years, too came in this production knowing that his cousin Nauzhat’s son Imraan is making his debut in this movie.

Aamir says in his blog: “Yes, I finally managed to lure Mansoor out of his hiding place. When I took over as director of TZP I needed a hands-on producer on Janee Tu so I requested Mansoor. To his credit despite his reluctance he did not hesitate to step in. I would like to think it was because of me, but I suspect it was because of Nasir Sahab. Both Mansoor and I know that Nasir Sahab would have wanted the two of us to stand by Imraan at this important juncture in his career! So Mansoor makes a return, albeit as Producer”.

SYNOPSIS

Our story begins at the airport with a story. When Rotlu, Jiggy, Bombs and Shaleen offer to tell Mala the tale of Jai and Aditi-a match made in the pastry shop of heaven - Mala is convinced that she is in for yet another cliched love story with joys and sorrows, happiness and heartbreak, songs and laughter, fights….and a climax at the airport.

And indeed, Jaane Tu… Ya Jaane Na is all of that. And more!

Meet Jai Singh Rathore (Rats), the most non-violent Rajput on either side of the Aravallis and meet, if you dare, the violent and passionate Aditi Mahant (Meow). Whatever you do, don’t pick a fight with her. She scratches. And abuses. I fyou do get into a scrap, take over till Jai arrives, as he alone can clam our snarling wildcat.

Never was there a less likely couple. Jai thinks Aditi’s parents should have rinsed her mouth with soap when she was a child. Aditi thinks that Jai is the biggest coward she has ever encountered. Heaven, it seems, has mixed up it’s apples and oranges.

More nuts in this fruitcake scenario:Rotlu weeps secretly for Aditi. Bomb’s heart explodes for Jai. Jiggy applies golden mascara to his hair. Shaleen….., well, she’s probably the only one who does not seem a few notes short of a concerto.

So, to comeback to our story: Aditi and Jai are perfect for each other (in some odd, distorted way, impossible to understand). Friends know this. Parents know this. Everybody knows this. But do Rats and Meow know?

Can two people ever, truly, know the secrets of their hearts? And how do you know it’s the real thing?

When do you know it’s love?

Add to this quandary a quarrelling portrait, strange dreams of a desert warrior, a dope-head brother and his pet mouse, two Rajput :cowboys”, three ancestral conditions, a fateful night in jail, and a climactic ride to the airport!

And there, you have it. Jaane Tu…. Ya Jaane Na is the coolest, warmet, funniest, hippest and musical-romantic-comedy of the decade.
